Annual Pesach Seder

Plans are already in place for this year's annual Seder at Emanuel Synagogue. It's always a great night and attracts a good crowd. For more details, please join the Dayenu Yahoo Group.

Pub Nights

Our pub nights generally take place once a month and alternate between Darlinghurst and Newtown. They are always well-attended and are a great opportunity to catch up for a beer and a good chat.

Ten-pin bowling

After a long break, our ten-pin bowling nights returned at the end of 2007 and due to its success, we plan to organise more of these nights in the future.

Theatre Nights

We've had two theatre nights so far. In November 2007 we went to see the Jewish-themed play "Halpern and Johnson" and in January 2008 we went to the Australian premier of the gay-themed play "The Busy World is Hushed". Both were well-attended and we thank the Ensemble Theatre for their continuing support.

Shabbat Dinners

Currently, we have an annual Shabbat Dinner on the night before the Mardi Gras Parade (see the Mardi Gras page), but we plan to hold these on a more regular basis in the future. Thanks go to Emanuel Synagogue for their ongoing support.

Video Nights

Our first video night was held at a member's home back in September 2007. We gathered to watch Trembling Before G-d, a fantastic film that follows the lives of gay and lesbian Orthodox Jews, who struggle to reconcile their faith and their sexuality. More video nights are planned for 2008.

Cinema Nights

Queerscreen's Mardi Gras Film Festival this year included the movie, "The Bubble" as well as a series of shorts movies from Israel.
