Sydney's Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Festival

Dayenu has marched in the Sydney Mardi Gras Parade every year since Dayenu's creation in 2000 (except for 2006).

The overall response was positive, resulting in increased awareness of and support for LGBTI issues within the mainstream Jewish community.

25th Jewish LGBT+ World Congress

World Congress: Keshet Ga’avah is the peak body, whose mission is to be the worldwide voice of Jews of diverse sexual orientations and gender identities.

Their recently published a book, Kol Koleinu (All Our Voices) highlights the excellent work they do. Delegates will be attending from the United States, France, Amsterdam, Italy, Latin America, New Zealand, Israel and around the globe.

First Religious Same-Sex Wedding

On May 2nd, Ilan Buchman and Oscar Shub were married by Rabbi Jeffrey B. Kamins in the beautiful new sanctuary of Emanuel Synagogue.

History was made at Sydney’s Emanuel Synagogue on Wednesday, with the first religious Jewish same-sex marriage held in Australia. The happy couple were Oscar Shub and Ilan Buchman.
